The "buzz" surrounding the real estate market since about 2014 has been declining inventories. Over the past year some would say that we have hit a critical point with the lack of available listings
Top 3 Things to Do in Mid-Michigan
Dated: April 28 2020
Are you thinking about living in Shiawassee County? Well, today on Home Field Advantage, I'm going to give you a preview of what that's like.
Hi, I'm Jeff McIntyre, and on this channel, we give you the inside scoop on everything mid-Michigan. In this video, I'm going to show you the top three things to do here in mid-Michigan.
Let's start with walking, running, and biking trails. We have the Fred Meijer Clinton-Ionia-Shiawassee Trail. It's a 41-mile rail-trail that connects Owosso to Ovid, St. John's, Fowler, Pewamo, and Muir lines. We also have the James Miner Riverwalk that starts in Corunna's McCurdy Park and ends in North Owosso at Harmon-Patridge Park. Another little insider tip for you, if you want to sound even more local, call Harmon-Patridge Park, Green Meadows. We also have DeVries Nature Conservancy and they're beautiful trails, and if you are into some extreme sports, there are two skate parks and one semi-exclusive BMX dirt trail.
It's a good thing number one is about being active and getting exercise because the number two top thing to do in Shiawassee County is to eat. Shiawassee County is full of great restaurants that include down-home family diners, Chinese food, sushi, Mexican restaurants, all of the fast foods that you ever want, great bars serving craft beer with craft food menus, smokehouses, and we even have a Louisiana Cajun-style cookhouse that brings people from all over the state. If you think the first two were awesome, well, it's because they were.
But check out our third favorite thing to do, Lebowsky Center for the Performing Arts. Another super insider tip for you refers to the theater as The Capitol Theater. Then you'll be local. With the recent branding upgrade, Owosso Community Players is now known as Lebowsky Center for Performing Arts. Lebowsky Center is where all the performances are held and is a crown jewel of downtown Owosso and Shiawassee County. They offer year-long performances from family shows to serious dramas. They draw talent from all over Michigan. Quality of production and the talent in these shows is incredible. You have to make it a point to see a production.
That sounds like a perfect day in mid-Michigan to me, an afternoon on the trails and evening of food and beverage, and then finishing the night with a great show at the Lebowsky Center. There are a ton of other events all over the county throughout the year that has something for everyone.
Well, I hope this video gave you some ideas on just some of the best things to do in mid-Michigan.
