Royals Win Junior League Championship!
July 19, 2017 | Jeff McIntyre Royals 8  Covenant Eyes 0

Both teams left it all on the field for the final game of the Junior League season. Kendall Kincaid held the Royals offense scoreless in the first two innings while racking up four strikeouts from the pitcher’s circle. Kincaid also received great defensive support from Allison Taphouse and Courtney Lott on the right side of the Covenant Eyes defense. Lott also lined a base hit in the late innings to try and spark a two out rally.

While the Royals bats started out cool, Lily Usher was busy mowing down Covenant Eyes batters. Usher pitched a complete game shutout allowing just one hit and racked up a total of 14 strikeouts. Once the offense was awake it was hard to hold it back. Hannah Wisenbaugh led off the final inning with a single. Meredith Weir then drove in Wisenbaugh with a double in the gap. Claire Agnew ended the night with a bunt base hit, Marisa Rose and Mallory Dennis each had base hits, Cadence Frye and Usher each had two base hits, and Olivia McIntyre rounded out the offense with a base hit and a double. Aubree Purdy and Frye all played solid defense to contribute to the win.

ForSaleByJeff.netfinished the season 11-1 and won the Junior League championship.
